The Companies We Keep : English-language theatre in Québec, 1930-2015

I am researching and writing a book-length study of English-language theatre arts in Québec across the bulk of the 20^th century and into the 21^st, situating them in relation to Francophone and Anglophone theatrical traditions in Québec and Canada, and to the radical social and political changes in Québec culture between 1930 and 2015. This diachronic study will include analysis of plays and of repertoire; an examination of Anglo theatre’s infrastructures; and case-studies of emergent companies and signal historical figures.
