Dans le cadre du 133^e Congrès national des sociétés historiques et scientifiques, lors du 400^e anniversaire de Québec 

L’histoire joue un rôle important dans les littératures anglophone et francophone du Canada. D’ailleurs, les documents historiques, tels les récits d’explorateurs ou les écrits des religieux, relèvent de l’histoire littéraire. Plusieurs écrivains du XIX^e siècle se sont par là intéressés à la fiction historique. De nombreux écrivains du XX^e ont fait renaître cet intérêt en fonction d’approches moderniste ou post-moderniste. Certains offrent un nouveau regard sur la place de l’histoire dans l’imaginaire collectif ou sur l’historiographie, ou encore prêtent voix aux groupes marginalisés par l’histoire traditionnelle. Enfin un certain nombre d’auteurs de fiction populaire au Québec se tournent vers la fiction historique depuis quelques années. Ce colloque vise à examiner les nombreuses facettes de l’histoire des littératures produites par les anglophones, francophones et allophones. Qu’est-ce qu’on raconte ? Comment ? Pourquoi ? Quels genres utilise-t-on ou retravaille-t-on ? Qui est à l’écoute ?
